Diego is a graduate of the Umberto Enological school and makes traditional Barolo, having worked under Beppe Colla at Prunotto. 2003 was the first vintage as Diego Conterno but the family's history dates back to post WWII. Father and son team tend to the vines and make the wines with Stefano joining in 2010. Diego has a classic style with the use of static fermenters, the use of cement tanks, and large botte which gives broad, brambly, and minerally driven Barolos.
