Nose: Rich oak, caramel, vanilla, dark fruit, honeyed grain, baking spice, and toasted cereal notes, varying across the three expressions.
Palate: Mature caramel, vanilla, orchard and dark fruit, brown sugar, sweet grain, toasted oak, and gentle baking spice.
Finish: Long and warming, with sweet oak, vanilla, mature grain, caramel, fruit, and lingering spice.
Distillery Information
Old Elk was founded in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2013 and developed its whiskey program around distinctive grain recipes and long maturation. The brand worked closely with veteran distiller Greg Metze, who helped develop its proprietary mash bills and later served as Master Distiller. Following Middle West Spirits’ acquisition of Old Elk, the 10 Year Old Collection became a major new chapter for the brand in 2026, bringing together three expressions that demonstrate how dramatically different grains can shape whiskey after a decade in oak.
