Víti Aquavite is Víti se basa en aguardiente de cebada islandesa que se redestila en un alambique con ingredientes botánicos nativos de Islandia como semillas de alcaravea, ruibarbo, raíz de angélica, hojas de abedul, tomillo rastrero, musgo de Islandia, col rizada y dulce de pradera. La alcaravea, el principal botánico, crece de forma silvestre en Islandia y se cree que la planta fue traída a la isla por monjes irlandeses alrededor del año 800 a.C. El aguavita islandesa destilada con semillas de alcaravea es lo que los islandeses suelen llamar Brännvin (vino quemado) y las recetas tradicionales se remontan al siglo XVIII.
