Here Tenuta Fanti produces Brunello di Montalcino and Toscana IGT wines from a host of local and international varieties including Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Viogner, Malvasia, Vermentino, and Trebbiano. The estate spans 300 hectares (741 acres) planted to some 50ha (124 acres) of vines, 80 percent of which are Sangiovese. The soils are primarily composed of galestro, or marl, and vines are planted to face south for maximum sun exposure. The estate produces a host of classic Tuscan wines including Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino, Super Tuscan blends, Vin Santo Sant'Antimo, and the distilled grape spirit, Grappa di Brunello.
