The company was founded by Giuliano Bortolomiol in the 1940s, though the family has been involved in wine production since at least 1760. Guiliano was the first producer to make a Prosecco Brut. Today the winery is run by sisters Maria Elena, Giuliana and Luisa Bortolomiol. The range of sparkling wines is led by the Grande Cuvée del Fondatore Motus Vitae, an homage to Giuliano. It is a Rive (single vineyard) vintage wine made from the San Pietro di Barbozza property. It is a Brut Nature which spends ten months on its lees. The family has renovated a former silk mill within the Parco della Filandetta in the center of Valdobbiadene, converting it into a tasting room. The previous facility now contains a company museum. The winery is also located here, as is, a two hectares (5 acres) of organically farmed vineyards. These vines produce the Ius Naturae Organic cuvée.
