The planted vineyard covered a mere two hectares (5 acres) in 1989, when Jean Guyon purchased it. The château now farms 45ha (111 acres) of vineyards on clay and gravel soils. The site is planted to around 70 percent Merlot, with smaller plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with vines averaging 35 years old.
