Predominately a Cabernet Sauvignon house, Corison is famous for creating a style of wine that goes against the stereotype that all Napa Cabernet wines are flamboyant, rich, alcohol bombs. Instead, Corison's wines are elegant and notably ageworthy, and are held in high regard. Cathy Corison developed a passion for wine in the 1970s while studying biology at Pomona College in Claremont, California. After receiving a Masters in Enology at UC Davis, she worked at the likes of Chappellet Vineyard, Staglin Family Estate, York Creek Vineyards, and Long Meadow Ranch, before settling on her property in St Helena. Here, she began crafting varietal Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the benchlands where Rutherford and St Helena merge.
