The inaugural release in WhistlePig’s legendary Boss Hog series, Spice Dancer is an exceptionally rare 12-year-old, 100% rye whiskey selected from some of the oldest and most distinctive barrels in the brand’s early stocks. Bottled straight from the barrel without dilution or filtration, it delivers remarkable intensity while retaining an elegant balance of sweetness, spice and mature oak. Only 24 barrels were selected for this historic first edition.

Nose: Creamy vanilla and honey with fruity sweetness, sarsaparilla, cinnamon, toasted oak and a subtle earthy woodiness.

Palate: Rich and powerful, with honey, vanilla and oak layered with cinnamon, clove, dark chocolate and pronounced rye spice. Despite its high proof, the whiskey carries a surprisingly smooth and rounded texture.

Finish: Long and warming, with red pepper, cinnamon, dark chocolate, vanilla and lingering seasoned oak.

WhistlePig Farm was established in Shoreham, Vermont, and became one of the defining names in the modern American rye whiskey revival. The Boss Hog series was created to showcase exceptionally aged, single-barrel rye at natural barrel strength, with each release built around a distinctive concept and limited selection of barrels. Spice Dancer was the first Boss Hog release in 2013, using 24 of the oldest and most unique barrels from WhistlePig’s early rye stocks. Its success established the Boss Hog series as one of the brand’s flagship collector expressions.
