Now, Tenuta di Biserno produces a colection of its own Super Tuscan wines under the IGT Toscana designation. The vineyard is located in the Alta Maremma region close to the coast, where there are cooling influences from the Mediterranean sea. The free-draining soil here is mainly alluvial, made up of limestone and calcium carbonate. This terroir has proved excellent for the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon that was planted in 2003 and for subsequent plantings of Merlot and Petit Verdot. Grapes are hand-harvested and are fermented in stainless steel before being aged in both French oak and bottle. Insoglio del Cinghiale is Biserno's flagship wine.
