That said, Syrah is perhaps better positioned to withstand it, thanks to those naturally robust aromas of dark fruit, spice and bacon fat. This wine sits heavy in the glass with a dark and impenetrable appearance and offers some sweet oak flavors along with an extra dose of blackberry preserves and bitter chocolate.
