The Domaine de Ferrand sites in Châteauneuf-du-Pape lie in the slightly cooler areas of the appellation, the soils are made up of the sand, clay and the round stones the region is famous for. The grapes grown are mostly Grenache with some Cinsault, Mouvedre and Syrah with some vines over a century old. The Côtes-du-Rhône sites are also used to produce red wines. All the vineyards are treated using organic methods and yields are kept small.
