The 2021 Planetes Clàssic by Família Nin-Ortiz is a vibrant, cool-climate Priorat red that trades heavy extraction for luminous elegance, tension, and pure mineral expression.

Producer Information

Familia Nin-Ortiz is a Priorat wine producer, founded by Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz in 2008. It produces a small portfolio of wines: six from Priorat and two from Penedès. The wine portfolio consists of two collections: The Nit de Nin Mas dén Cacador and Coma dén Romeu wines are produced from very old vines whilst the Planetes range is produced from younger vines. In the winery, an extended maceration of up to four weeks is adopted to maximise a gentle extraction of color and flavor compounds. Familia Nin-Ortiz cultivate Garnacha, Carignon, Roussane, Marsanne and Chenin Blanc amoungst other. Familia Nin-Ortiz also cultivate a small plot of the rare Garnacha Peluda variety - a cross between Garnacha and Carignan. Organic farming principles are adopted in the vineyard.
