The second annual release of Maker’s Mark Star Hill Farm Whisky, this limited 2026 expression explores the influence of different wheat varieties and regenerative agriculture on whiskey flavor. A blend of 7- and 8-year-old whiskies, it combines soft red winter, hard white and heirloom hard red wheat with malted wheat and malted barley. Bottled at cask strength, the result is rich and expressive, with layers of fig, ripe pear, citrus, caramel and warm baking spice.

Nose: Dark molasses, fig and baking spice with strawberry, honeyed apricot, peach, caramel and sweet oak.

Palate: Rich and rounded, with candied orange, ripe pear, honey and chocolate-covered cherry followed by vanilla, ginger, dough and subtle citrus.

Finish: Long and harmonious, with dark chocolate, fig, cinnamon, pecan and lingering nutmeg and allspice.

Distillery Information

Maker’s Mark Distillery was founded in Loretto, Kentucky, in 1953 by Bill and Margie Samuels and became renowned for its wheated bourbon and distinctive red wax seal. Star Hill Farm, home of the distillery, has become central to Maker’s Mark’s exploration of regenerative agriculture and estate-grown grain. Introduced in 2025, Star Hill Farm Whisky represented the company’s first new mash bill and first wheat whiskey in 70 years. The 2026 release expands that project with multiple wheat varieties while continuing Maker’s Mark’s focus on agriculture, flavor and sustainable production.
