Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu The US Edition 2025 is a limited American-market release that showcases Chichibu’s fruit-forward single malt character alongside the distinctive influence of beer-cask maturation. Made with lightly peated malted barley, the whisky is drawn from 16 casks, including ex-bourbon barrels and casks that previously held IPA and imperial stout. The combination brings together candied citrus, tropical fruit, creamy vanilla, and subtle smoky malt with a distinctive hoppy bitterness. Bottled without chill filtration or added coloring, it offers a layered and expressive profile that balances malt sweetness, fruit, and gentle peat.

Nose: Candied orange peel and dried pineapple lead, followed by vanilla pastry cream, honeyed malt, and gentle smoke. Subtle hoppy aromas and a hint of toasted oak add complexity.

Palate: Bright tropical fruit and citrus mingle with creamy vanilla, sweet malt, and baked pastry notes. The IPA and imperial stout casks contribute a delicate hop bitterness and deeper roasted character, while light peat and warming spice provide balance.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering pineapple, orange zest, vanilla, and gentle smoke. A subtle hoppy bitterness and toasted malt note remain toward the end.
