Chichibu Taiwan Edition 2025 is a highly limited single malt Japanese whisky created exclusively for the Taiwanese market. Produced by the renowned Chichibu Distillery under the direction of Ichiro Akuto, this special edition showcases the distillery’s signature balance of vibrant fruit, rich malt, elegant oak, and remarkable complexity. Matured in carefully selected casks and bottled in limited quantities, it delivers layers of orchard fruit, tropical notes, vanilla, honey, baking spices, and refined oak. Like many Chichibu market-exclusive releases, it is highly sought after by collectors for both its rarity and exceptional craftsmanship.

Chichibu Taiwan Edition 2025 Single Malt Japanese Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Ripe pear, green apple, tropical fruit, honey, vanilla, citrus zest, floral notes, toasted oak, cinnamon, and gentle spice.

Palate: Creamy vanilla, orchard fruits, mango, caramel, malted barley, honey, toasted oak, nutmeg, baking spices, and dark chocolate with a rich, silky texture.

Finish: Long, elegant, and warming, with lingering notes of vanilla, ripe fruit, oak spice, malt sweetness, and delicate floral complexity.

Distillery Information

The Chichibu distillery in the Saitama Prefecture of Japan is the brainchild of Ichiro Akuto, who founded the distillery in 2008. The first new distillery built in Japan since the 1970s, Chichibu is rather small but produced some mightily marvellous malts, with a good helping of peat warmth behind some of them. A portion of the barley Chichibu uses is grown locally, and they use a wide selection of cask styles to mature the whisky. Their first release - the aptly named Chichibu The First - made its way to shelves in 2011, and though subsequent releases have been somewhat infrequent, they have been well received.
