El Parque Forres fue desarrollado para uso exclusivo de la familia Fernandes y sus trabajadores de la finca. El nombre deriva de la antigua finca azucarera que la familia adquirió en los años 1930. Este ron demasiado resistente se almacenaba en enormes toneles de madera o "punzones", como se les llamaba entonces.
