Detailed Description
Detailed Description
Foxdenton originally created the recipe for this Sloe Whisky Liqueur as a favour for a friend. The team applied their expertise in producing fruit liqueurs, and were so impressed with the results that it seemed rude not to make more for the rest of us! Wild sloe berries are added to a three-year-old whisky for a further 12 months, imparting decadent fruity depth that'll make a superb warmer served neat in the winter months, and splendid Highballs come summer.
Foxdenton Sloe Whisky Liqueur | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Dark sloe berries, ripe plum, blackcurrant, gentle whisky, vanilla, and soft spice with a sweet, fruity character.
Palate: Rich and fruity, with tart sloe, blackberry, plum, caramel, vanilla, and warming whisky notes. Balanced sweetness keeps the fruit bright rather than overly heavy.
Finish: Medium and warming, with lingering sloe berry, dark fruit, gentle oak, vanilla, and subtle whisky spice.
Distillery Information
Foxdenton Estate has been owned by the Radclyffe family since all the way back in 1569! However, the distillery was founded more recently in 1935. The estate company passed to Nicholas Radclyffe, the current owner, in 2001 after the death of his father, Alexander Radclyffe. The aim has been to develop the company while staying true to their family history. The family have been making fruit liqueurs at home since the 1800s. So, the family took their old recipes and focused on making what they know best. They now have a wide selection of gin and gin liqueurs, though they developed their London Dry gin after they began with a range of fruit gins.
