Isle of Raasay 7 Year Old Na Sia Single Cask Series - American Rye Cask Unpeated Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

The sister expression of the Peated editon, this limited unpeated single cask from Raasay’s Na Sia series was also matured in an American rye whiskey cask sourced from Woodford Reserve Distillery in Kentucky. The difference is simply that one is peated, the other is unpeated, and this being the latter it shows off more of Raasay’s naturally fruity spirit.

Nose: Vanilla fudge, butterscotch, gentle spice, caramel sauce, toasted oak, and a touch of soft orchard fruit.

Palate: White pepper and rye spice balanced by caramel, vanilla, toasted grain, and a little nutty sweetness.

Finish: Vanilla, caramel, white pepper, and drying oak spice lingering nicely.

Distillery Information

Situated on the isle of Raasay in the Inner Hebrides, the Isle of Raasay Distillery opened its doors in 2017, ready to start distilling its whisky and gin. The first release from the team was Isle of Raasay Gin, which was also the first legal spirit distilled on the island (though there is a long history of illicit distilling on Raasay going back centuries!). In 2021, Raasay's very first single malt Scotch whisky was released to the world, boasting a lightly peated style to it. Excitingly, the distillery has also got some cool plans for whiskies made using barley grown on the island too!
