Este whisky lleva el nombre de Kiichiro Iwai, conocido como "El pionero silencioso del whisky japonés" y ex mentor de Masataka Taketsuru, fundador de Nikka y Suntory Whisky.

Iwai Tradition es un whisky mezclado, compuesto por whiskys de pura malta, cereales y mezclados. Luego, el whisky se añeja en una combinación de barricas de ex bourbon, ex jerez y ex vino, creando una perfecta armonía de sabores.

Mars Shinshu es la destilería de whisky más alta de Japón, a 798 metros -poco más de 2.600 pies- ubicada entre los Alpes del Sur y Central de Japón. Mars Shinshu es propiedad de la familia Hombo, que se dedica al negocio de la destilación desde hace más de un siglo.
