Información de la destilería

Fundada en la costa sur [Kildalton] de Islay y situada entre Ardbeg y Laphroaig, la destilación legal fue iniciada en Lagavulin en 1816 por John Johnston. Una segunda destilería compartió el sitio, que fue comprada por primera vez por la misma familia en 1825, antes de que la producción fuera absorbida por Lagavulin en 1837.
