Se trata de un whisky escocés de pura malta de Highland Distillery Macduff, seleccionado por Douglas Laing por su gama Provenance. Se destiló en junio de 2011 y luego se envejeció en una sola barrica (#15369) y luego se embotelló en noviembre de 2021 con un 46% ABV sin colorantes ni filtración en frío adicionales, como lo es todo whisky de la gama Provenance.

Macduff fue fundada en 1960 por Macduff Distillers Ltd. Estaba formada por un grupo de corredores de whisky de Glasgow, incluidos George Crawford, Marty Dyke, Brodie Hepburn y James Stirrat. El edificio era un diseño funcional pero clásico de los años 60 del renombrado arquitecto destilador de la época, William Delme-Evans.
