This heavily peated expression was drawn from a variety of casks, and the Bruichladdich folks on the Isle of Islay are more than happy to divulge into the details. 37% of the whisky was fully aged in first-fill Port pipes, 31% in first-fill Cognac casks and 20% in second-fill American whiskey casks. The remaining 12% was initially aged in American whiskey casks, then in virgin oak casks, and then back in to more American whiskey casks.
