Detailed Description
Detailed Description
Red Line Ex Cherry Brandy Cask Finish Straight Bourbon Whiskey is part of Red Line Whiskey Company's experimental cask-finishing range, exploring the interaction between American bourbon and specialty finishing barrels. The bourbon's traditional corn-led sweetness provides a foundation for the additional fruit character developed during maturation in ex-cherry brandy casks. Expect a rich, dessert-like profile built around dark cherry, caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak, complemented by warm baking spices and subtle almond notes. The finishing process adds a deeper fruit dimension while preserving the whiskey's underlying bourbon character.
Red Line Ex Cherry Brandy Cask Finish Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Ripe cherries, dark berries, caramel, and vanilla mingle with toasted oak, almond, and hints of baking spice.
Palate: Cherry preserves and brown sugar lead into caramel, vanilla, and dark fruit. Toasted oak, cinnamon, and gentle rye spice add structure, while subtle almond and confectionery notes round out the sweetness.
Finish: Lingering dark cherry, caramelized sugar, and toasted oak, followed by gentle baking spice and a touch of dry almond.
