El prestigioso La Grande Dame 2006 está elaborado con un 47% de Chardonnay y un 53% de Pinot Noir, y reúne la fruta de ocho grand cru villages. Muy intensa y compleja en nariz, se trata de una cuve de prestigio con cuerpo, redonda, rica y llena en la boca, pero también refinada; revela una pureza, precisión y frescura fascinantes. El final es largo y complejo, y muestra una mineralidad especiada. En el retrogusto se perciben aromas de granos de café, pan y pan tostado. Esto es muy recomendable.

Fundada en 1772 por Philippe Cliquot procedente de una rica familia de banqueros, su hijo François se casó con Barbe Nicole Ponsardin. Lamentablemente, quedó viuda con sólo 27 años, por lo que asumió la dirección de la empresa de champán, algo en lo que demostró ser muy buena.
