      Producer Information

Chateau Trimoulet is an obscure Bordeaux wine property in the Saint Emilion appellation that has been in the Jean family since 1802. That was the year when the estate was created by Guillaume Jean. At the close of the century, the property was managed by a direct descendant with a rather distinctive name that was easy to remember, Jean Jean. At the time, the Jean family also founded Couvent des Jacobins. Jean Jean erected the tower and finished the chateau that remains in use today. His direct descendant, Michel Jean is the current manager of Chateau Trimoulet. Starting with the 2011 vintage, Nicolas Thienpont began consulting the estate of Chateau Trimoulet on their wine-making and vineyard management practices. One of the first decisions made by the team of Nicolas Thienpont was to decrease the yield, increase the selection and produce from only the best 7 hectares or vineyard parcels. The remaining 8 hectares that are mostly in the sandy soils, close to the trees are placed in the estates second wine. Chateau Trimoulet was purchased by the Dassault family in 2016.
