      Producer Information

Wine production in the Lavrenčič family goes back a long way in history. According to the stories of their ancestors, they have been engaged in winemaking and winemaking for about 150 years. The living evidence that we still keep today is the wooden door of an old wooden barrel, engraved with the year of manufacture, in 1913. The story begins in Vrhpolje, on the homestead of the Lavrenčič family, when Anton Lavrenčič (Bojan's great-grandfather) began to grow wines in large wooden barrels. He started with Rebule, Pinela and Malvasia varieties, mainly for home use. The quantities produced by Anton Lavrenčič I were small, but large enough and good enough to attract his son Anton Lavrenčič II to winemaking and winemaking. Anton Lavrenčič II accepted this kind of work with open arms, and at the same time increased the area and cultivated up to 10,000 vines. In addition, together with his family, he grafted cane grafts (the yield was about 5,000 grafts per year), which they later sold all over Slovenia. The story continued in the second half of the 20th century, when Anton Lavrenčič III (Bojan's father) was forced to take over work on the farm due to the early death of his father. He accepted the family tradition of growing wine on the homestead with great joy, and expanded the capacity to 13,000 vines, with two new types, Zelen and Merlot. His Merlot was one of the first in the Vipava Valley. And so the tradition continued through years of work and experience, until Bojan Lavrenčič took over the rich legacy of the three Antonovs and began to build a completely new story, a story based on the heritage and foundations of his ancestors.
