The Edmund Mach Foundation carries out education and training activities, scientific research, experimentation, consultancy and business services in the agricultural, agri-food and environmental sectors. The institution continues the aims and activities of the Agricultural Institute founded by the Diet of Innsbruck in 1874. It is located on the left bank of the Adige river, in a hilly area, in a campus that extends for 14 hectares in the municipality of San Michele all' Adige, in the province of Trento. The FEM is an instrumental body of the Autonomous Province of Trento governed by a board of directors. The management of the organization is inspired by criteria of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, transparency and has non-profit purposes.
