The BenRiach Single Malt Scotch Whisky Single Cask Strength Batch 2 is one such expression, offering drinkers with a superb blend of sweet and spicy flavors that are guaranteed to please both newcomers and veteran Scotch drinkers. Distilled from 100% malted Scottish barley, the Scotch spends its maturation in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and virgin oak casks. The whiskies are then married together to achieve the optimum level of flavor and texture before being bottled at a hearty cask-strength, creating a rich and complex Scotch expression that is perfect for both neat sipping and cocktail mixing.
BenRiach Single Cask Strength Batch 2 Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Light caramel in color, each sip of this whisky begins with a welcoming nose of fresh orange, prunes, toasted coconut, burnt sugar, and sawdust.
Palate: This is immediately followed by a rich, sweet, and full-bodied palate of toffee, caramel, vanilla, crème brulee, candied almonds, citrus, malt, and generous helpings of fresh cut ginger.
Finish: A long, dry, and toasty finish of vanilla, orchard fruits, lemon, coconut, new wood, and sweet spices.
Distillery Information
The BenRiach distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside area of Scotland. It is currently owned by Brown-Forman Corporation after being purchased on 1 June 2016 as a subsidiary from the BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, formed by two South African funding partners, Geoff Bell and Wayne Keiswetter, and Scotch whisky expert Billy Walker.
