Released to celebrate the distillery's centenary, this 17yo Benromach spent its final two years in sherry casks dating from 1886, 1895 and 1901 before bottling in 1998 by Gordon & Macphail, who had recently taken over and re-invigorated the distillery after a fifteen year distilling hiatus.

Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.
Palate: There is a much greater presence of peat in the taste than the nose suggests. The smokiness quickly hits the palate and then tapers off.
Finish: Lingering finish.
Distillery Information
Benromach is a Speyside distillery founded by Duncan McCallum and F.W. Brickman in 1898 and currently owned and run by Gordon and Macphail of Elgin. It is situated near Forres in Morayshire and is fed with spring water from the Chapelton Springs in the Romach Hills beside.
