Dixeebe Mezcal Madrecuishe 05 is a limited artisanal mezcal made entirely from Madrecuishe, a distinctive variety of Agave karwinskii. The mature agave was harvested after approximately 14 years, allowing its natural sugars and character to develop deeply. Produced in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, the spirit is cooked in an underground conical oven, crushed by tahona, naturally fermented in pinewood vats, and double distilled in copper stills. Edition 05 was limited to 1,248 bottles.

Nose: Roasted agave, ripe fruit, fresh herbs, delicate florals, earth, and pronounced minerality.

Palate: Cooked agave, layered fruit, herbal and floral notes, earthy minerality, and warming spice.

Finish: Long and evolving, with lingering roasted agave, herbs, mineral tones, spice, and subtle smoke.

Distillery Information

Dixeebe is a family-driven mezcal project from Asis Cortés and Maestro Mezcalero Valentín Cortés, representing a fifth-generation mezcal-making family from Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. The project was created around preserving ancestral Oaxacan mezcal traditions while working with small batches of distinctive agave varieties. Dixeebe expressions are produced using traditional methods including earthen pit cooking, natural fermentation, and copper distillation, with the entire range presented in 375ML bottles. The brand emphasizes small-scale production, cultural preservation, and respect for the land and generations of mezcaleros behind each expression.
