Galánta from The Shed Distillery is the first single malt Irish whiskey distilled in Ireland's Connacht in over 107 years. This triple distilled single malt was drawn from Kentucky bourbon casks, which have imparted a wealth of orchard fruit, brown sugar, and toasted spice notes.
Drumshanbo Galánta Release 2021 | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Apple chips and pear drops, with a layer of runny caramel, and a whiff of sandalwood.
Palate: Honeycomb, candied ginger, waxy citrus peels, mocha, caramelised peanuts.
Finish: Cassia, flapjacks, and chocolate-chip cookies.
Distillery Information
In deepest rural Ireland, on the edge of a lake in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, is the home of The Shed Distillery and PJ Rigney. PJ created The Shed Distillery with its medieval copper pot stills, and began a quest to fuse oriental botanicals with the local Irish ones.As it turned out, they got on very well indeed.
