From the excellent German bottler The Whiskey Agency (TWA) a rare 27 year old Springbank Cask, presented at the Whiskey Fair Limburg 2019 . A bottling from the distillation year 1991, bottled in 2018. Bottled at 46.4% ABV .
Springbank 1991 TWA 27 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Quite warm and waxy, with less of the sharp minerals and more vanilla and dried flowers. There’s a big sweet / fruity side too, showing ripe peaches, rhubarb jam, a little guava and lychee. Hints of buttery tartlets, wax candles and sunflower oil.
Palate: Warm fruitiness of apricots, guava and pineapple. Waxy orange peel, hints of chalk and rosemary. Coconut oil. Light ginger.
Finish: Medium long, on citrus peel, warm, round vanilla / pastry touch.
Distillery Information
The Springbank distillery is a family-owned single malt whisky distillery on the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, who also owns the Glengyle Distillery, the oldest independent bottler, William Cadenheads, and several blended scotch labels.
