      Detailed Description

A structured and well-balanced Amarone from one of Valpolicella’s most respected estates, the 2004 Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico comes from a generally strong vintage that delivered more classical balance compared to the extreme heat of 2003. The season allowed for better acidity retention and more measured ripening, resulting in wines with greater harmony between dried fruit concentration, freshness, and tannic structure. Produced using the traditional appassimento method and aged in oak, this Amarone shows both richness and refinement.

      Producer Information

Allegrini is an Italian family business based in the Valpolicella Classico zone of the Veneto. It is widely regarded as one of the leading producers not only in the region but in Italy as a whole, and is particularly known for its Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. The family has been in the region since the 16th Century, and has been involved in winegrowing for much of that time. However, the business as it is known today was founded in the mid-20th Century by Giovanni Allegrini, who began to build the estate's reputation for fine wines in the 1960s and 70s. Today, all of Allegrini's wines are made from estate-grown fruit from 90 hectares (222 acres) of vineyard in the communes of Sant'Ambrogio and Fumane, where the southeast-facing slopes and chalk soils are well-suited to winegrowing.
