A particularly excellent single malt from the Benrinnes Distillery, independently bottled by GreatDrams. This expression was distilled back in 2012 and set aside to age, before being finished in a first-fill Oloroso sherry cask for 21 months. It was eventually bottled up in December 2021 at 48.2% ABV.
Benrinnes 9 Year Old 2012 (GreatDrams) Scotch Whisky | 500ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Dense malt with a hint of meatiness to it, backed up by dried fruit and festive spices.
Palate: Waves of vanilla and milk chocolate, with spiced fruit compote and a touch of caraway.
Finish: Bold clove and cinnamon, sweetness building from the sherried fruit, and a low hum of mahogany.
