Nose: Raspberries, blackberries, cinnamon and oak.

Palate: Juicy, fruity, nutty, then notes of coffee and dark chocolate emerge.

Finish: Chocolate mousse and gentle oakiness on the finish.

Distillery Information

Darkness Whisky is an independent bottling range renowned for giving Scotch whisky additional maturation in specially coopered 64-litre sherry octave casks. These small casks provide a significantly greater oak-to-whisky ratio than conventional hogsheads and butts, allowing the finishing cask to make a pronounced contribution in a relatively short period. The range explores Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Moscatel, Amontillado, and other sherry finishes across whiskies from different Scottish distilleries. Darkness is part of the independent whisky portfolio of Atom Brands, with the range focused on bold, intensely cask-driven expressions.
