Grand Marnier Grande Cuvee Quintessence Tasting Notes
Nose: A fresh and lively bouquet with prominent orange notes, intertwined with fruity and floral nuances, and deeper notes of almond and vanilla.
Palate: The palate is greeted with a delicate freshness, followed by flavors of dried fruits like nuts and peach. The rich and mellow character extends into a long, lingering finish, leaving a "peacock" perception of evolving flavors on the palate.
Finish: The aftertaste is long and intricate, with layers of fruit, nut, and mellow sweetness developing over time.
Distillery Information
According to its official website, Grand Marnier's first distillery was built in 1827 by Jean Baptiste Lapostolle in the village of Neauphle-le-Château. His granddaughter Julia married Louis-Alexandre Marnier in 1876, and four years later, the Marniers released a signature cognac with Haitian bitter orange.
