Kinnickinnic Whiskey is a product of Great Lakes Distillery located in the heart of Milwaukee and founded by Guy Rehorst. The takes its name from the Ojibwe word which roughly translates to “mixture”. Specifically, it refers to a blending of tobacco and other plants. Kinnickinnic is a blend of sourced Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey and their own malt and rye whiskey which they distill in Wisconsin.
Great Lakes Kinnickinnic Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose is dominated by round notes of flavored tobacco, pipe smoke, and wet grains.
Palate: On the tongue, there are a range of agricultural flavors like tobacco leaf, grass seed, and hay, with some hints of tangerine, cereal, and oak. It is a fairly sweet, malty, and earthy pour that is slightly warm and has a light-medium body.
Finish: This finishes medium-long, with sweet corn and boozy heat stretching out the experience. Slightly drying.
