A substitute for Lemon Hart 151 – for many an improvement even, blend of aged, up to five years, pot and column still rum from DDL, the distillers of Lemon Hart and El Dorado. Preserves the smoky tobacco flavors found in Demerara rums. Try in a 151 Swizzle.
Hamilton 151 Overproof Demerara River Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: The molasses note from the pour is very present with other notes nipping around the edges.
Palate: Rich flavors of dark, stone fruit, smoky wood, burnt cane, brown sugar and spice.
Finish: The finish is dry and earthy.
Distillery Information
Demerara Distillers operates the last remaining distillery in Guyana at Plantation Diamond on the East bank of the Demerara River. Here they have consolidated all the old original stills, marques and traditional skills which make Demerara Rum so distinctive.
