Janneau 1942 Armagnac is an exceptionally rare vintage Armagnac distilled during World War II and matured for decades in French oak casks before bottling. Produced by one of the oldest and most respected houses in the Armagnac region, this historic spirit offers extraordinary depth, elegance, and complexity. More than eighty years of maturation have developed an intricate profile of dried fruits, candied orange peel, toasted nuts, dark chocolate, coffee, leather, tobacco, antique oak, and warming spices, resulting in a remarkable collector’s Armagnac and a true expression of long-aged Gascon brandy.

Nose: Dried apricot, fig, prune, candied orange peel, walnut, toasted almond, vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, leather, tobacco, antique oak, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Palate: Rich dried fruits, raisin, fig, prune, caramel, toffee, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, espresso, leather, tobacco, sweet spices, polished oak, and remarkable silky texture.

Finish: Exceptionally long and elegant, with lingering notes of dried fruit, cocoa, toasted oak, leather, tobacco, vanilla, spice, and refined rancio complexity.

Founded in 1851, Janneau is the oldest continuously operating Armagnac house and has become one of the region’s most internationally respected producers. Located in the heart of Gascony, the house is renowned for combining traditional continuous distillation with double distillation, depending on the style of spirit desired. Janneau carefully matures its Armagnacs in French oak for extended periods, producing spirits celebrated for their richness, finesse, and exceptional longevity.
