This rare 10 year old Laphroaig Cask Strength Batch 004 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey comes from the legendary Laphroaig Limited Cask Strength series. It was bottled in January 2012 in cask strength with 58.6% vol.

Laphroaig 10 Year Old Batch #4 Original Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Campfire smoke, medicinal, hansaplast, vanilla, resinous, vegetal/grassy peat, dried apple and some sour lemon, a faint note of mashed potato and nutmeg in the background.

Palate: Thick and fat smoke, earthy peat, medicinal, plasters, vanilla, bitter citrus and some faint apple, fennel, bay leaf, potato mash with nutmeg and black pepper, a very light note of mustard in the development.

Finish: Long: some vanilla and bittersweet citrus, quickly followed by prolongued notes of dry smoke, liquorice, bay leaf, some nutmeg and bold black pepper.

Distillery Information

Laphroaig whisky is made on the Scottish island of Islay. The distillery has been in operation since 1810, making it one of the oldest whisky distilleries in Scotland. Laphroaig whisky is known for its smoky flavour, which comes from the peat used to smoke the barley during the whisky-making process.
