The Singleton Single Malt Scotch Cask Strength 39 year | 750ML Tasting Notes

Nose: The nose-feel is mellow, and the aroma is profoundly complex. Mild at first and vinous, with fruity top notes suggesting a rich fruit cake with wine-soaked raisins, candied orange peel and toasted almonds.

Palate: At natural strength, light yet creamy-smooth; a very slightly waxy texture and a mouth-watering, sweet start with a notably fruity clove-studded spiciness.

Finish: Very long, fruity, and warming, with a lingering spicy warmth and a hint of salted plums in the aftertaste.

Distillery Information

The Singleton is a family of single malt Scotch whiskies owned by Diageo. The range brings together the whiskies of three different distilleries – Glen Ord, Glendullan and Dufftown – that each have a variety of different age-statement and cask finish expressions. The collection was launched in the mid 2000s and includes the Highland release The Singleton of Glen Ord (launched in Asian markets) and the Speyside malts The Singleton of Glendullan (for the American market) and The Singleton of Dufftown (for the UK and European travel markets). Since 2015 all three have been made more easily available across global markets. The Singleton brand name was first used for the Auchroisk Single Malt that is also part of the Diageo portfolio. This labeling ended in 2001, several years before the term was reintroduced in its current usage, and Auchroisk now appears in Diageo's Flora & Fauna range.
