The estate's first vintage in 1998 was released as Failla-Jordan, taking its name from owners Ehren Jordan and Anne-Marie Failla. Jordan and Failla purchased vineyard land in Cazadero in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA, and planted the site initially to Chardonnay and Syrah, eventually adding Pinot Noir. Today, the organically farmed site spans around 6 hectares (14 acres) and includes steep hillside vineyards composed of rocky soils.
