Heaven Hill Distillery produces Bernheim Original at its historic Bernheim facility in Bardstown, Kentucky, where it pioneered wheat as the dominant grain in a straight American whiskey. First introduced in 2005, Bernheim marked a major shift in American whiskey production by replacing rye or high corn mash bills with soft winter wheat as the primary grain. This 20th Anniversary Limited Edition is crafted from a selection of 10-year-old barrels drawn from Heaven Hill’s aging warehouses, bottled at a higher proof than the standard expression to highlight deeper barrel character and concentration. The release reflects Heaven Hill’s long-standing commitment to innovation within traditional Kentucky whiskey-making while maintaining the smooth, softer profile that defines wheat whiskey as a category.
