Chatoe Rouge Oregon Single Malt Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Soft malt, honey, vanilla, ripe fruit, fresh herbs, and gentle smoke with a subtle coastal character.

Palate: Sweet and malty with cereal grain, warm leather, milk chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla, and light herbal notes, followed by a delicate smoky edge.

Finish: Short to medium, with lingering malt sweetness, light smoke, gentle bitterness, and subtle oak.

Rogue Ales & Spirits developed its whiskey program around the idea of producing spirits that reflect the character of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. The Chatoe Rogue program was connected to Rogue Farms in Independence, Oregon, where the company grew ingredients used across its brewing and distilling operations. Its Oregon Single Malt was produced from malted barley and matured in new American oak, incorporating the distinctive influence of locally grown and smoked ingredients. The expression became one of Rogue's early American single malt whiskeys.
