A Tamnavulin single malt Scotch whisky, drawn from refill hogsheads and finished for 27 months in Madeira casks. James Eadie selected this Speyside malt for its Small Batch range. It's packed with fruit, cake shop sweetness and a lively Madeira glow.

Nose: Sponge cake, orange zest, sultana, vanilla and toasted nuts.

Palate: Madeira-rich with dried fruit, caramel, barley and warm spice.

Finish: Medium long with honeyed malt and a gentle wine sweetness.

Distillery Information

"Tamnavulin distillery, meaning "mill on the hill," started in 1966 in Speyside, named for a nearby wool mill, but closed in 1995, only to be revived in 2007 after major refurbishments under Whyte & Mackay ownership, relaunching as a single malt in 2016 with a focus on smooth, wine-cask finished whiskies, becoming known for its accessible, fruity Speyside character despite its industrial exterior."
