Talisker 14 Year Old ‘Molten Seas’ continues the theme of experimental single malts from Skye featuring in the Diageo Special Releases. The 2025 edition was matured in volcanic rock-toasted American oak, giving this whisky an elemental, smoky edge to its maritime character.

Talisker 14 Year Old (Special Release 2025) Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Sea spray and maritime ozone give way to bonfire ash, cracked black pepper, and liquorice root, layered over charred oak. Hints of roasted hazelnut and smoked pineapple emerge.

Palate: Oily and powerful, with maritime smoke wrapped around salted caramel, black pepper, and grilled tropical fruit. A savoury backbone of seaweed and smoked shellfish adds depth.

Finish: Hot, smoky embers fade into cracked peppercorn, brine, and an earthy volcanic char.
