Distillery Information

Clase Azul was founded by Arturo Lomelí in 1997 and has become one of Mexico’s best-known luxury tequila producers, distinguished by its handcrafted and individually painted ceramic decanters. The company works with Blue Weber agave from Jalisco and produces its tequilas using slow-cooked agave, fermentation and double distillation in copper stills. Clase Azul established its own ceramic workshop, Tradición Mazahua, in 2007 to preserve traditional Mazahua craftsmanship and create its distinctive bottles. The 2017 Día de Muertos Añejo was the first release in the brand’s annual Día de Muertos series, making it an especially important piece in Clase Azul’s collectible history.
