"Craigellachie Distillery, founded in Speyside in 1891 by whisky pioneers Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie, boasts a story of resilience, initially supplying blends for brands like White Horse but emerging as a distinctive single malt with a robust, meaty character, known for its unique sulphury notes and long use of worm tubs that create a heavy spirit, eventually gaining prominence with its own single malt releases under Bacardi ownership after decades in the background of major distiller groups."
