Ledaig 16 Year Old 2009 Cask #2201082 Dram Mor Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

This peated Ledaig single malt was distilled at Tobermory in 2010 and spent the next 16 years maturing. The whisky was treated to a finish in a first-fill rye whiskey barrel from Chicago's Koval distillery before it was independently bottled by Dràm Mòr.

Nose: Great elegance and charm on the nose.

Palate: A very pleasant, rich and smooth taste in the mouth. Lovely texture.

"Ledaig is the peated whisky from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, founded in 1798 by John Sinclair, with a history marked by many closures and ownership changes, reviving its smoky identity in the 1970s and gaining popularity for its bold, campfire-like character that contrasts with its unpeated Tobermory counterpart. The name, meaning "safe haven," reflects its island home, and its story is one of resilience, with the distillery shifting production focus to create more Ledaig, a sought-after smoky dram."
