Eclipse is the reference for character, body and aroma by which our Master Blender Allen Smith uses to blend every variety of Mount Gay Rum. For many rum aficionados Eclipse is also the reference by which all rum should be measured. Eclipse has a brilliant golden amber colour and a luxuriously complex aroma.

Mount Gay Eclipse Barbados Rum Tasting Notes

Nose: Distinctive floral and fruity notes of apricot and banana, with hints of vanilla.

Palate: Subtle smokiness imparted by the toasted Kentucky oak barrels in which the rum is aged.

Finish: Warm, medium body with a bright finish.

Distillery Information

Mount Gay Distilleries Ltd. is situated on the easternmost island of the West Indies. The oldest surviving deed for the company is from 1703, making Mount Gay Rum the world’s oldest commercial rum distillery. The current majority shareholder of Mount Gay Distilleries since 1989 is Rémy Cointreau. Mount Gay Rum is sold in 110 countries, and its primary export market is the United States of America.
